Hi, my name is Amina I am an Artist and Surface Pattern Designer based in the UK. I have a degree in Clothing Design and technology from Manchester Metropolitan University.
I recently have been working in the area of arts wellbeing, something which I am deeply passionate about. I have developed, researched, and designed a series of Doodle Art Workshops that I have delivered via Zoom. These art workshops were created to boost wellbeing.
I also have worked on a variety of art commissions from poetry, digital art to being involved in creating art activity packs. I have created successful commissions for GMCA (Greater Manchester Combined Authority), Cartwheel Arts, and Spot on Lancashire. You can view my portfolio here
The art I produce is full of bright colors and I often enjoy experimenting with different art mediums such as photography. I specialise in these different styles of Surface Pattern Design, which are floral, geometric, and paisley design. You will find examples of my surface pattern work throughout this website. My Design process begins with a hand drawing, this is then transferred to Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. From there the hand-drawn motifs are repeated in a technical repeat or a placement design. I take inspiration pretty much from everywhere, whether this is from a distressed, cracked wall or pavement, different texture from wood grain, the colours from cooking and the biggest influence on my work is nature, I am a huge nature lover!
I am also a proud member of ACID (Anti Copying in Design)
